On March 10, a ceremonial award presentation will take place at the New Town Hall in Brno, where 25 talented doctoral students—winners of the Brno Ph.D. Talent competition—will receive their scholarships. Each of them will be awarded an exceptional three-year scholarship worth 360,000 CZK. A total of 9 million CZK will contribute to the development of young science and help strengthen Brno and the region as a center of research and innovation in the Czech Republic. The competition focuses on natural sciences, technical fields, and mathematics, and is open to students from four partner universities in Brno.
This year saw a record participation of 151 doctoral candidates, demonstrating the prestige of this scholarship program, which has been running in Brno since 2009 and is the result of cooperation between the public, academic, and non-profit sectors. The City of Brno provides financial support, the program is organized by the South Moravian Centre for International Mobility (JCMM), and local universities promote it among their talented students.
