Modern technologies today are no longer just “nice to have.” They are a key tool for improving quality of life in cities while also enabling more efficient management of resources.
At the Smart City in Practice conference, held on March 17 as part of the AMPER 2026 trade fair in Brno, a number of concrete examples were presented. The conference showed that real-world inspiration—from both smaller municipalities and large cities—plays a crucial role in implementing innovations. Technology is no longer an end in itself, but a means to make cities more functional, sustainable, and more pleasant for their residents.
A presentation was also delivered by a representative of the Department of Strategic Development and Cooperation, the head of the department, František Kubeš. He focused on current projects and initiatives that are helping to fulfill the vision of a smart city.
