Bridging Education and Practice: Future Shapers Continue to Expand

ScienceSmart Brno

At another meeting of the Future Shapers project, this time held at the premises of FEKT BUT, around 80 representatives from companies, schools, and universities came together. Once again, it became clear that connecting these worlds has a real impact—not only for professionals, but especially for students.

The project continues to grow and deliver tangible results: the campaign has reached over 1.7 million people, brought 76,000 visitors to the website, and a quarter of them took the quiz “What kind of shaper are you?”. At the same time, registration is open (until May 15) for the MyMachine and STEM in Education programs, which provide Czech schools with a space where children’s imagination connects with innovation—and where ideas truly become reality.

Looking ahead, the “Future School” concept is also in development—a methodology for advancing STEM education, set to be completed in 2026 and then piloted at ten schools in the South Moravian Region.

The meeting also offered inspiring insights from practitioners such as Albert Schwanzer (STEMHUB), Tomáš Gröpl (Tieto), Jakub Janča and Lubor Maněk (Židlochovice Primary School), and Matěj Kadlíček (ELEDU).

Their experiences highlighted several common themes: students want learning to be more connected to real life, experiments, and discussion; fostering creativity and imagination is key; makerspaces show that when children are given space, they can achieve great things; and success often begins during studies thanks to the combination of expertise and entrepreneurial thinking.

Thank you to everyone who is part of this initiative and helps shape the future of the next generation!
