What does Brno offer to people who have come from abroad? What options do they have, who can they turn to, what associations are there? Not only these questions were answered by the exhibitors at the fourth edition of the fair, which targets professionals from abroad. The Brno Expat Fair took place again in the Brno Market Hall at the Green Market.
Brno tries to attract expats and also to keep them, as they contribute to the development of the city with their knowledge and experience in local multinational companies or universities.When someone comes to a foreign country without family and experience, they need to get their bearings quickly. That is why it is great that at the event they can find out a lot of interesting and practical information about life in Brno.
The event is traditionally organised by the Brno Expat Centre and is free for all. One of our strategies is to support the Brno Expat Centre, which provides information and support services to foreign professionals. This year’s fair brought together more than 70 exhibitors from employers, public and commercial services, schools, clubs and associations. They showed interested parties what the city has to offer. At the same time, the event is open to all, so Brno citizens could, for example, taste traditional Spanish, Greek, Mexican or South African cuisine.
The event also included an accompanying programme: screenings of Cinema Art, workshops and activities for children.
Approximately 10,000 expats are currently working in Brno. These are highly qualified workers from Slovakia, Italy, India, Great Britain, Turkey, Greece, USA and other countries.
