3 days, 10,000 visitors, 6,400 Facebook followers, 2,300 completed festival competition cards, 375 popularizers, 12 kilograms of coffee – these are the basic statistics of this year’s event.
The popular Festival of Science and Technology in Brno, with a varied offer of almost 80 stops, attracted the attention and interest of thousands of visitors, both young and old, at the beginning of September. Under the management of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium and thanks to the support of the city, it was again held in the functionalist pavilion A1 of the Brno Exhibition Centre.
One of the new features was a joint stand of Brno and the Brno Observatory and Planetarium with a module evoking a space satellite. We are glad that we were able to participate in this important popularization event on behalf of the city and observe the enthusiasm of the young generation up close, as you can see here: https://youtu.be/SqI7jv5xv30.
The festival also featured the introduction and launch of a new magazine about Brno science, Svedu vědu, with interesting information about the activities of the South Moravian departments of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The magazine was prepared by the Brno Observatory and Planetarium and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic with the support of the City of Brno.
