Brno, together with the South Moravian Region, is the first region in the Czech Republic to win the prestigious 2024 European Entrepreneurial Region award from the European Committee of the Regions.
The award is given to three EU regions each year that have an innovative and outstanding strategy to promote entrepreneurship that has both political support and concrete action towards a specific goal.
The award, presented at the European Committee of the Regions plenary session on 6 July 2023, was received by Brno City Assembly member Anna Putnová together with South Moravia governor Jan Grolich and representatives of the other winning regions, Famalicão in Portugal and Friuli Venezia Giulia in Italy.
