On October 21–22, 2025, Brno hosted the prestigious Correlative Materials Characterization Workshop 2025 at the CEITEC Masaryk University campus. The workshop connects communities from the fields of materials science, natural sciences, and informatics, focusing on modern techniques of correlative materials characterization – ranging from light and electron microscopy to X-ray and atomic force microscopy. The event was co-organized by the Brnoregion Microscopy Platform and the Czech Optical Cluster.

Leading experts from Israel, Switzerland, Germany, France, and Poland gathered in Brno. Participants had the opportunity to visit local laboratories and companies, meet with specialists, and attend company presentations and a poster session.
A ceremonial reception of the participants at the New Town Hall, organized by the City of Brno on the first day of the workshop, provided space for networking and exchanging experiences between scientists and company representatives. The guests were welcomed by Anna Putnová, City Councillor for Innovation Support and Cooperation with Research Organizations.
Brno once again demonstrated that it is a global center of microscopy and materials science.
