Brno Expat Centre is looking back on 15 years of growth and in September launched its 16th season. The Season Opening, attended by 70 guests, took place at the Moravian Museum in Brno.
The BEC team shares its enthusiasm and creativity in their daily work with international professionals and employers in the city. With the support of the City of Brno, they contribute to building a more international, open and welcoming image of the South Moravian capital. Anyone in Brno can contact the centre and become a local “buddy” for newly arrived expats – helping to make Brno friendlier, one friendship at a time. A new feature this year is a virtual city guide, Ahoy Brno, available in the Loxper application.
The Expat Centre supports qualified foreign professionals and their families before and during their stay in Brno. It provides them with professional services free of charge. Expats can benefit from the services and assistance of experts on-site or seek advice through the online guides on the website.
Brno Expat Centre offers assistance in the following areas: residence permits, medical services, housing, family, taxes, business, schools, leisure and more.
In 2024, the City of Brno supported the launch of the Talent Attraction and Integration Management project. Its goal is to coordinate the activities of all participants in the local innovation ecosystem – companies, universities and other organisations – and to promote the #brnoregion brand worldwide. This is intended to attract and retain talented foreign scientists and employees of technology companies in Brno.
