Good news for all future PhD candidates! At its June meeting, the Brno City Council approved support for the next round of the Brno Ph.D. Talent program, which backs top students in science and research. Selected PhD students can receive a scholarship of up to CZK 360,000 over three years. In total, the city will allocate CZK 9 million for this support.

The program, implemented in cooperation with JCMM z.s.p.o., has been helping retain smart talent in Brno for 15 years. It is intended for skilled students in natural sciences and technical fields from all Brno universities. In addition to financial support, it offers valuable networking, career, and educational opportunities.

Brno Ph.D. Talent is consistently ranked among the city’s key initiatives in supporting science, research, and the development of the innovation ecosystem. Brno once again confirms its role as a center of excellent education and scientific advancement.

Applications for the next round will open in the autumn, starting September 4, 2025. So if you’re planning doctoral studies in Brno and are eager to push the boundaries of knowledge, be sure to follow the program — it might be just right for you!
